In I, the Vessel, John Steil and I meet through different materials but a shared sensibility - one grounded in presence, observation, and the quiet transformation that unfolds through time.


My sculptures begin with what has already lived: paper once a tree, later discarded, softened, pulped, and shaped again by hand. These vessels and forms hold memory, breath, and renewal, attuning to the slow pulse of nature as it reforms itself.

John’s freehand drawings trace the rhythms of the urban landscape, mapping space through line, texture, and the architecture of perception.
